The old kitchen had a typical 1970's U shaped layout with dropped ceiling at 7' high. The surrounding family room ceiling was a vaulted ceiling. We removed the drop ceiling, and built soffits over the new wall hung cabinets.
A double french door in the corner of the breakfast area was replaced with a 36 " single door to allow space for a set of cabinets on the far wall. A new island 6 foot long with a counter top of 4' by 6' , together with the new wall of cabinets more than doubled the amount of storage available.
The new breakfast area is now the island counter top surrounded by four bar stools.
This after picture was taken during the installation of the countertops.
Finishing touches included an all new ceramic tile installation throughout the family room, kitchen, entry foyer and hallway, and into the hall 2nd bathroom.
